nothing kills the excitement of a new year like getting sick...and other stuff

I haven't been updating my buzznet (or anything for that matter) lately for multiple reasons..I went to an Oceana show on the 10th and saw so many old friends. It was fantastic to be around everyone again and see that we can pick up right where we left off. However..one of those friends was sick with the flu and I'm pretty sure I got it..but I'm finally getting over it after a week of being in bed so I'm happy.

The other reason I guess is because I'm trying to get my life in order..you know when you want to do as much as you possibly can at one time and it seems to pile up so much that ordinary everyday things seem like a huge out of the way chore? That's how I feel. I'm so under pressure with school, college, photography, friends, family etc. that when I try to do my best with everything at once it all just turns into chaos. The next two years of school is going to be the most intense work I've ever done and the fact that I'm home-schooled does not mean its easier. Its like standing on a giant pin needle and being told you have to take a step forward.

My boyfriend tried to get me to take my mind off things so we went to see a movie, he made me pick (I hate double hate making decisions) and I chose the unborn and it sucked. Pathetically. They focused way too much on making it a scary jumpy movie and not enough on the quality of the script or the acting. And Gary Oldman was not a cure all. I had way more fun watching the inauguration (!!!) which was actually awesome and I hope that President Obama will do the US good..god knows we need it.

Anyway, its midnight, officially my boyfriends birthday, and I'm exausted. Time for a kiss and sleep..and making him a vegan cake for tomorrow night<3 its a surprise so I hope he doesn't read this before then...

mmm uneven alice in wonderland type cake...I like!

Even St. Pauls Cathedral isn't safe from the wrath...

If my sister and I have ever done anything blog-worthy, this is sooo it.
On thursday, my sister, mom, boyfriend, grandfather and I all went to The London Museum, which is awesome and I suggest you all go as well..it has stuff from 450,000 BC all the way to modern time, all stuff found in London. Anyway, so after geeking out over cool shit old stuff we decided just to walk around the area, and ended up at St. Pauls Cathedral. We all go in (I don't believe in god, but I do believe in architecture, so, great). And its definitely a beautiful place, unfortunately one that's too good for pictures..and we arrive there just in time for their 5:00 'choral evensong' and the staff basically told everyone to park it. The choir starts. 3 minutes later..still going...5 minutes later still going..by this time people are leaving. A LOT of people. Which I find hilarious, so I whispered in my sisters ear a veeery simple "look mia, they're ll like 'fuuuuuck this!' " and that's it. We start cracking up. Uncontrollably. For the next 5 minutes our mom is like 'shhh SHHHHHHHH', our grandpa is egging it on, and my sister and I are trying with everything we have not to start laughing again. In church. and its very hard when 20 people are singing in whatever language and everyone else is falling asleep.

So..no more church for us, but I think we definitely made the first trip quite memorable.
I'll blog a little more when I get back home (oh yeah, we didn't leave on the 7th and decided to stay until the 20th)

Today was so great!!

Maaaan what a long day! First I woke up and went to my dads for a little while, then I had to go get an electricity converter so we went to edgware road, what a zoo. It was so so so beautiful though!! I FINALLY got my converters though so I can charge up my camera and get back to shooting everything in sight..anyway, later we went back to my dads and met up with Beatrice (so awesome to see her again, she's fucking great) and she took us all to this really great vegan indian restaurant (I'll remember the name of it later..), it seriously was some of the best food I've had, loved it. Tomorrow I'm going out with my grandfather, that should be fun, he knows so much about london that you can literally point and ask "what is that statue?" and he'll tell you the entire history of it. I can't believe it's only been three days! I really hope it doesn't start to go by quickly..okay, now I need to get some sleep or else I'll keep waking up at 12:30pm (7:30am my normal time)...

Leaving for London Tomorrow!

Again, my updates on Buzznet have been slow because I've been extremely busy. I'm half english and have a lot of family in London and right now, visiting them is priority. Travelling is gonna be such a bitch though, I have a FIVE HOUR layover in Atl, so I'm not really looking forward to that..but I love flying and London is my favourite city, so, it isn't that bad..I'll (hopefully) be posting more when I'm there, definitely going to take tons of pictures!

Anyway, I hope all of you are enjoying the best season of the year, I'll be back in the u.s. right in time for Halloween (not sure if I'll dress up though. Mail me suggestions!) and I'll try to stay in touch with all of you while I'm away.

be safe xox diva

Easter

I hate Easter.

I hate being anti-Easter while the rest of the planet loves it.

I hate having to look at 20 dyed and deccorated embryos and think about the millions of others that other families are looking at like its fucking amazing.

Tradition is amazing.

Happy Easter. Because this is exactly what JESUS and GOD would want. Yet another holiday built on rape, murder, and lies.

T-Mobile in all their greatness.

I first started using T-Mobile when the Sidekick II came out and of course I thought they were just so awesome so I got one. It worked fantastically until it got stolen on new years eve 2006. I reported it stolen and had it shut off, was without a phone for quite a while and still getting billed for that phone. Not normal bills, I mean...$700 for a Sidekick II that I cancelled? This was going on for months...until we FINALLY figured out that the stupid prick that stole my phone just bought a new sim card and started using it like his own while we had to foot the bill. $500 in pathetic ringtones. Overages. Media messages. MY t-mail account. Decided to forgive T-Mobile for that mistake.

Then the Sidekick III comes out, lotta hype and obviously everyone wants one cause they are so awesome awesome awesome. I get one in october 2006. It works for a while then no reception, shit goes slowly, freezes, etc. Finally the trackball on it (its used to scroll up, down, left and right) stops working, so I call T-Mobile, agaaaain, and they say they'll send me a refurbished one? "It's just like new", okay, I'll give it a try. I got this probably around april 2007. Finally something that works! Until august! I had to take out my battery a few times while the phone was frozen (which really fucks it up and isn't any kind of good for any technology.) Then in November I'm realizing my phone is hardly working at all, coughing and sputtering like an old man, "but you're a Sidekick III! You're supposed to be cool, dude! You're not even a year old and you're awesome awesome awesome!" no. No no no no no no not even close. No reception. Phone is falling apart. Last night (1-30-2008) I got a new sim card. Fantastic, thank you T-Mobile! Thank you thank you for letting me get something that works for only ten dollars that the kid at the T-Mobile KIOSK IN THE MALL pocketed! (because the T-Mobile store was closed at 8, the fuck is that?) Driving home, yay, it works, yay finally, three hours later, no reception. Nothing. Taking 10 minutes to send a text message. A single text message with no more than 5 words. Bullshit.

I try to call T-Mobile and my phone slips out of my grip and falls on the CARPET, where the screen breaks. A sidekick is not supposed to do this:

^ That, above, is my screen flipping all the way around, exorcist style.

So another call is placed to T-Mobile today, one hour. Basically the warranty went out in November (juuust about the time my phone really started fucking up, thanks) and to get a Sidekick LX, the one that WORKS, would be about $300 with full discount. OR I can pay for another Sidekick III that will break soon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you T-Mobile, for all of your kindness, I'll go to AT&T.

P.S.

In case you were wondering an average T-Mobile bill with two sidekicks and two razr's is about $375 a month.

waiting to go

I had nothing planned this new year so we (my mother, sister, Darek and I) are gonna drive aaaalll the way up to Orlando and go to disney...great idea right mhmm its 6:00 in the morning. When I was little I thought once you pulled the nasty crusty things out of your eyes in the morning you weren't tired till the sleep fairy had time to make more (which by my own logic was about 12hrs) yeah bullshit I'm exausted. Hahaha. Happy new year I guess

Christmas Pain

Hahaha wow what an emo title..but I mean Christmas shopping is so crazy haha I hate it! I'm having so much fun though despite the stress. I don't want anything for Christmas really, getting things is making me feel sort of weird. Like I really need anything else? For what?
In the car right now listening to Darek and my sister sing Christmas carols haha how cute. Up to nothing at all...baking, cleaning, shopping, watching the twilight zone every night, lacking sleep and looking at the awesome Christmas tree in the middle of my living room. And ironically I'm freezing my ass off!!
Have you started your Christmas holiday yet (and are you enjoying it?)

enviornment question.

How does everyone feel about switching to fluorescent lighting?

Fluorescent lights are very energy efficient, however...

The light bulb contains mercury, and cannot be tossed in the garbage, unlike incandescent bulbs. And of course...

"More often than not, their toxic ingredients simply end up in landfills, where the chemicals can leach into soil and water and poison fish and other wildlife."

Who is going to tak the time to dispose of these light bulbs correctly?

So, what is everyones opinion?

Oh by the way...Madonnas performance on Live Earth was very funny to me, seeing as she has invested over 2 million dollars in companies that are polluting the planet...companies that Live Earth were trying to spread awareness about!

A question - nothing huge.

you have your heart sitting in one hand and your soul in the other. one is pumping blood keeping you alive and the other is the light that radiates your complete beauty and holds all of your true, unconditional love. everything you ever put all of your positive effort into.

which do you leave behind?
